Reels, Carousels, or Leave, man.

In the immortal words of Bob Dylan, “Be groovy or leave, man.” 😎

The same sentiment can be applied to the visually saturated world of Instagram. It’s Reels, Carousels, or leave, man 👋🏻

According to @FutureSocial, and probably most folks you ask, reels and shorts are the crowd favorite while enjoying a good scroll through the ‘gram. This can make it seem challenging to validate static imagery at this point in our social media story, but fear not - images, graphics, and info illustrations have a place. The key is swipeability, just side to side instead of up and down.

Why is this a wise take for your seafood brand’s social media strategy? 🤔

Here’s the breakdown on carousels, and why you should be using them:

🔷 They give you two chances in the feed, showing you image #2 if you scrolled past image #1.

🔷 Globally, carousels have the highest average rate of all types of Instagram posts according to @hootsuite. With a hot hook and more content to peruse, you viewers give more reasons to engage.

🔷 A swipe counts as engagement! And we all know the algorithm feeds on attention.

🔷 With up to 10 images you can take your viewers on a journey, offering them a story instead of making them feel sold to. All the better to build that brand love.

With the wealth of stimulating visuals you can create from the vast diversity of seafood products, catch and grow methods, supply chain, and BTS goings on in your biz, your opportunities to capitalize on these algorithmic powerhouses are endless!

Having said all this, you don't HAVE to eliminate static posts but it’s probably time to incorporate a little diversity into your content strategy. In our high stimulation social media-verse, the single-photo posts are simply not going to garner the attention they once did.

Make it Reels, Carousels, or leave, man. ✌️
